Letter from the Executive Director
Welcome to Philadelphia VIP!

We are proud to serve as the hub of pro bono legal services in Philadelphia. VIP was founded over thirty years ago to provide pro bono legal assistance when Legal Services Corporation funding to Philadelphia’s Community Legal Services was drastically cut. Since then, VIP has recruited and trained thousands of private bar attorneys to provide consistent, high quality representation to low income clients with critical legal needs. VIP continues to create and implement creative and effective ways of bridging the gap between socially marginalized individuals, families, and communities with legal needs and lawyers possessing the skills and ability to meet those needs.
VIP staff and volunteers ensure that everyone has equal access to justice, regardless of income. This is particularly important in this economy when even more people need our help. A lawyers’ expertise can help our clients maintain income, stabilize their families, and remain in their homes. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of our clients. That is the impact of saying yes.
I hope you'll join us! To learn about upcoming events and ways to become involved, please click here. We are thankful for the ongoing support of our volunteers, our funders and the Philadelphia community. This is an exciting time at VIP and we look forward to working with you.
Sincerely,
Sara Woods
Executive Director
